Part Four: Is a Cure Possible for Sex Addiction?
There is no cure for addictions, but the addict can acquire the strength and capability to improve their life and regain their integrity. Lust can be difficult to deal with, so one must enter a conscious, sensitive and intelligent process and take responsibility for one's addictive tendencies. When this is done, the addict begins to start living a more sacred life that celebrates Love. He or she also starts to find that it is possible to regain lost ground and develop a more stable life situation.
Feeling supported and loved, we all have more strength and motivation to turn from life's destructive temptations and tendencies.
For Family and Friends of the Addict
If you love or care for a person who may be sexually addicted, you may find yourself experiencing intense pain, deep feelings of betrayal, loneliness and/or despair. Whether or not the sex addict seeks help, it is equally important for you to find a healthy way to contend with these emotions and find the most sensitive way to proceed in your relationship with the addict.
